Juraj Bezak, PhD.

Hockey and fitness coach with the highest coaching license, and author of multiple research works in the field of ice hockey.

Juraj is a professional hockey coach with the highest coaching license and Biomechanics specialist. He has authored and co-authored several research papers in ice hockey. His training system is based on impeccable movement techniques and details crucial in today’s modern hockey.

He started his hockey career in Dubnica n/V where he spent his entire playing career. From a young age he was interested in the training process, in the eighth grade in primary school he had a dream to study coaching at university and become a hockey coach.

His dream became a reality when, in 2008, he started studying ice hockey coaching at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport of Comenius University in Bratislava. Studying sports fulfilled him to such an extent that he won two awards from the Rector of Comenius University and a diploma with honors, thus becoming the most successful ice hockey coaching student at the faculty in history.

After five years of full-time study, Juraj decided to continue his four-year PhD studies focusing on ice hockey research, which he completed in 2017, thus obtaining the title “Doctor (PhD).”

He started his coaching career in 2007 at a sports camp in New York. Since 2008, he has been coaching ice hockey in Bratislava and Dubnica n/V, where he has gradually worked his way up as a coach through all age categories from pre-primary to men’s. As a fitness coach he has a lot of experience in preparing both professional players and young hockey players. In the 2020 / 2021 season, he served as sports director of the club HK Spartak Dubnica.

In 2018 he was at the birth of our Total Hockey Management project, where he is the manager and main methodologist of the THM training system.
